Overview

Provider rankings are the output of structured, manual review using publicly available information. We do not receive live pricing feeds; every score is an intelligence judgement across the criteria below, applied consistently to every provider in the index.

Scoring criteria

Regulatory status

Direct authorisation by recognised regulators (FCA, Banco de España, Central Bank of Ireland, ASIC and equivalents) and evidence of safeguarded client funds.

Property payment suitability

How well the provider supports the flow of a residential property purchase: reservation, arras, notary completion and post-completion payments.

Large transfer capability

The provider's demonstrated capacity to handle transfers between €50,000 and €1,000,000 and above, including onboarding thresholds and support model.

Transparency

Clarity of pricing, fees, FX margin disclosure, and quality of publicly available regulatory and safeguarding information.

Support model

Availability of dedicated account managers, telephone support, forward contracts and rate alerts for staged property payments.

Documentation complexity

How straightforward the provider's onboarding and source-of-funds documentation is for an international private buyer. Lower is simpler.

Spain property purchase relevance

Track record and public material specifically for buyers purchasing residential property in Spain.

Data sources

  • Regulator public registers (FCA, Banco de España, Central Bank of Ireland, ASIC, FINMA and equivalents).
  • Providers' own published terms, safeguarding disclosures, pricing pages and support documentation.
  • Industry disclosures such as safeguarding statements, annual reports and audited accounts.

What our scores are not

Scores are indicative intelligence judgements, not live quotes. They reflect our assessment of a provider's fitness for property-purchase flows, not the specific outcome of any individual transaction. Every buyer must obtain a live quote directly from the provider before making a decision.

The full Independence Policy and Referral Disclosure explain why commercial arrangements do not affect scores.
