Principle
An intelligence platform is only as trustworthy as its willingness to publish and correct its own mistakes. If a fact on this site is wrong, we would rather it be corrected than defended.
How to report an error
Email the editor with the URL of the page in question, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and — where possible — the source that supports the correct position. A named contact from a provider's compliance, communications or legal team is welcome, as is a reader who spotted an inconsistency. Reports are treated identically regardless of the sender.
Response service levels
- Acknowledgement within two working days.
- Initial editorial assessment within five working days.
- Correction or explanation of why no correction is warranted within ten working days for straightforward matters; longer where the underlying question requires regulator confirmation or provider engagement.
How corrections are recorded
For minor factual corrections (a date, a figure, a typographical error), the article is amended and the last-reviewed date updated. For material corrections — those that change the substantive meaning of a claim or the ranking outcome for a provider — a corrections note is appended to the foot of the article stating what was changed and when. Historical versions are retained internally.
What we will not do
- Remove critical content that is factually accurate at a provider's request.
- Suppress a corrections note to preserve the appearance of infallibility.
- Change a provider's ranking outside the published methodology as part of a corrections settlement.
